About REMind Ed

About
REMind Ed

REMind Ed™ (Ryan Enright Mind Education) created by co-founders Úna Ryan and Denise Enright. Friends since college, in Mary Immaculate Limerick, Úna currently works as a Primary Teacher and Denise as a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist.

Together, they have more than 15 years’ experience working with children, teenagers and families. In their individual roles and lives they are both passionate and active advocates for mental health. Parenthood expanded their interest in mental health and wellbeing further. REMind Ed™ believe parents along with others who support children, like teachers, deserve to be supported in their role. Mental health awareness has become a much wider issue and is a responsibility we now all have to our children.

With this in mind, in 2021 Úna and Denise brought their experience, knowledge and shared vision together. REMind Ed™ was born with the aim of creating simple, useful and highly effective reminders for school and homes that support the building of healthy, life-long habits.

Our Mission

To promote and enable wellbeing to be part of the everyday normal routine, just like brushing our teeth.

Our Ethos

We believe a little can go a long way and it is in our everyday habits that we make the most change.

Our Hope

To create simple, easy to use and effective wellbeing prompts for everyone that support the building of lifelong, healthy habits and promote mental hygiene.

Our Vision

To REMind you, with simple and easy strategies, how to keep the balance right within the mayhem of everyday life.

Úna Ryan

Bachelors in Education, Masters in Education

Úna Ryan is a Primary Teacher. She is married to Seán and they have two boys. She lives in Cashel, Co. Tipperary. Úna has worked as a Primary Teacher for over 15 years, predominantly in Oola N.S. in Co. Limerick. This afforded Úna the opportunity to work with all class levels from Infants to Sixth and with children of various abilities, interests and personalities.

Úna’s interest in understanding the best methodologies to use to cater for children’s needs lead her to return to Mary Immaculate College to complete her Masters in Education. During her time studying for her Masters, Úna focused her research on how using play-based learning can support the teaching and learning of language. Over the years Úna has broadened her teaching experience through working in Special Schools summer programmes, creating and running summer camps, working as a drama teacher and undertaking various courses focusing on both academic and holistic areas. Her most recent role as a part-time Special Education Teacher and Wellbeing Coordinator afforded her the opportunity to further her experience and interactions with pupils.

As a teacher Úna has always wanted to create a happy, safe and inspiring environment for the children she teaches. However, it was becoming a mother that cemented this for Úna. Her interest in wellbeing and mental health deepened, her passion for understanding better ways to parent fed her need to want to change teaching methods also. She wanted to create something that her boys would benefit from not only at home but at school too. This combined with many conversations with Denise led to them co-founding REMind Ed™. A company created to empower others to support children’s emotional development as well as their own.

Denise Enright

Bachelors in Education, M.A. in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy

Denise is a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist specialising in Play Therapy, a former Primary Teacher and a parent. She has over 15 years experience working with children, adolescents and parents within schools, organisations, family resource centers and other settings both in Ireland and the UK.

Starting her career in teaching really highlighted to Denise the wide range of emotional needs within classroom settings, something teachers are relatively unprepared for leaving college. Her interest in this and desire to gain more knowledge to support children prompted Denise to go back to study. In 2012 she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy.

Following this Denise moved to London, where she worked within different schools and with all age groups providing therapeutic support as well as special needs teaching. Her work with Place2Be in London gave Denise huge insight in the positive impact of a whole school approach to mental wellbeing.

In 2016 Denise moved back to Ireland and completed her Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. Since this Denise has worked extensively with adolescents as well as children within Pieta House and her private practice ‘The Be Room’. She also runs therapeutic groups and facilitates talks and workshops for schools on request. Denise lives in Co. Kerry with her husband; two kids, Hannah and Teddy (her greatest teachers!) and their dog Pip.

Within her work a strong ethos and aim is to empower children and adolescents. Another key part of her work is to empower parents, carers and teachers. Therefore, getting the opportunity to co-found REMindEd™ and create useful resources to promote mental health and hygiene is a dream come through for Denise.
